900 Jobs to be Created

The Landmark, set to be built by Godwin Developments, would create 900 jobs if given the go-ahead by city planners, according to an assessment by planning agents, Cushman and Wakefield. Once operational, the development will also deliver between 10 to 15 full-time jobs. The Build-To-Rent (BTR) scheme, which is aimed at young professionals, will contain just over 200 apartments with onsite facilities such as a gym, residents lounge and concierge service.

Planning Granted by Derby City Council

Councillors have agreed the Section 106 arrangements for The Landmark, which will see Godwin contribute towards flood defences, trees and a traffic preservation order. According to the district valuer for an inner-city regeneration scheme of this kind, Godwin are contributing more than the suggested amount, supporting significant improvements to public realm.

Derby City Council affirms planning permission for the Landmark

Following last year’s committee approval the LPA consulted with UNESCO on the heritage elements of our application. The scheme was therefore reviewed In a further meeting held by the committee on 18th June, where members again voted to grant permission for Derby’s first Build-to-Rent scheme, this time by a very strong majority.
