{"id":2759,"date":"2019-12-10T13:24:54","date_gmt":"2019-12-10T13:24:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/godwingroup.wpengine.com\/?p=2759"},"modified":"2023-11-02T07:30:30","modified_gmt":"2023-11-02T07:30:30","slug":"godwin-to-bring-much-needed-homes-to-doncaster","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/godwingroup.co.uk\/godwin-to-bring-much-needed-homes-to-doncaster\/","title":{"rendered":"Godwin to bring much needed homes to Doncaster"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/godwingroup.co.uk\/\">Godwin<\/a>\u00a0Developments, the property arm of\u00a0Godwin Group, has submitted planning for a development of 60 new family homes on Watch House Lane in Bentley, Doncaster.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Comprising\u00a0a mix of two and three bedroom homes, the properties are designed and built specifically for\u00a0the rental market and,\u00a0given the diverse needs of renters, a \u201cone-size-fits-all\u201d approach simply won\u2019t work.\u00a0Therefore, developers are seeing an increasing need to build high quality, low maintenance homes which are perfect for investors as they are easier to market.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Government has previously committed to delivering 300,000 homes a year by the mid 2020&#8217;s. However recent statistics put the amount at around 177,000 a year in 2017-2018. The annual number being built has so far not exceeded 224,000 homes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Richard Cornes, managing director at Godwin Developments said: \u201cThis will be an exciting scheme for us, we hope to develop 60 homes on this former brownfield site. As the UK is currently experiencing a housing shortage crisis, this investment will bring much-needed quality housing stock to the local area and community.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis will be our first housing development in Doncaster where we hope to regenerate a former industrial site and reinvigorate the local area with a carefully designed scheme to fit in with the surrounding neighbourhood. The scheme includes sympathetically designed homes with open green spaces and ample parking for residents.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The London studio of multi-disciplinary practice, rg+p has designed the new scheme to both complement and improve connections with its surroundings. Architectural Director, Grant Giblett explains: \u201cLocated in a suburban area of Doncaster, the site has been redundant for approximately a decade and is in desperate need of regeneration.
